Safeguarding probed

The UCU plans to monitor referrals to the Independent Safeguarding Authority after members raised concerns that they were being used unfairly against lecturers

One said a colleague had been referred to the authority, which has the power to bar individuals from working with children, after defending himself against repeated attack by a student.
