Save libraries

I agree wholeheartedly with Jonathan Douglas, director of the National Literacy Trust, that there needs to be an assessment of what is going on in terms of library provision in schools. It should be a statutory requirement to have a library in a school but only if the library is integrated with teaching and learning and isn't seen as a room full of irrelevant books where pupils are sent when they misbehave.
