School blazes

Fires in schools disrupt the education of up to 90,000 children every year, according to a report published by the National Foundation for Educational Research. And the Government's drive to expand after-school clubs will make the problem worse unless more sprinklers are fitted, council leaders were warned. One in eight schools has suffered a serious arson attack.
