Science - Engineering some inspiration

The Scottish Qualifications Authority is looking for inspiration - or to be more exact, it wants to hear about science or engineering teachers who are an inspiration to their students.

Its competition, entitled "I Inspire", launched last month, is for the Science Engineering Teacher of the Year 2010.

A spokesperson for the authority said: "At SQA we are committed to promoting all aspects of science and engineering through our qualifications. So we thought it was time to acknowledge all the outstanding teachers, lecturers and trainers across Scotland who inspire, enthuse and nurture the next generation of Scottish scientists and engineers."

The competition is open to primary and secondary schools, FE colleges and training organisations in Scotland. Nominations close on June 30, 2010.
