Science - Set revision in motion

What is it?

The TES Resources science pages offer a wide variety of revision aids for science in all subjects and at all levels, so even if your Standard grade classes have sat their exams, why not test your S2s and 3s?

How to use it

This collection includes summary PowerPoint presentations, posters, revision games, mindmaps for students to complete, crosswords, quizzes, checklists and revision notes.

In biology, for example, a revision PowerPoint looks at how organisms produce new cells and processes such as meiosis and mitosis; it includes a set of questions at the end so pupils can test what they have learnt (judski). There are also checklists covering adaptations, evolution, variation and human effects on the environment, which pupils could hang somewhere to jog their memory.

Chemistry revision resources include a set of questions uploaded by aidannelson that covers topics such as rates of reaction, acids and alkalis, electrolysis and arrangement and bonding. There is also a revision crossword (Mrs B) and a revision mindmap on polymers where pupils have to fill in the key words (oldspice).

For physics, revision aids include a card game that covers energy and energy resources (tyler durden), and a classroom poster on force and motion in transport (fdoust).

There are also some resources that can be used across the sciences, including a PowerPoint quiz template where you can build your own multiple-choice revision quiz on any topic, supplied by TwoShanks. In addition, there is a link to the North Yorkshire Learning Net website, which has revision plans for core, additional and triple science.
