A little bird told me ...

National Nest Box Week begins on Valentine's Day, so this year, as you dwell on those close to your heart, spare a thought for the birds, too.

The campaign is an opportunity to contribute to the conservation effort in the UK while also building pupils' awareness of the species that surround them. By creating a nest box, pupils can help to breed birds and watch their new friends flourish in the world.

What else?

Make a bird feeder with samthompsonneeholyman's practical resource. See the RSPCA's A-Z of birds and check out GreenHatBoy's resource for an analysis of starling flight paths. For a creative approach, look at bexta2uk's birdsong performance skills and Morddel's "Masked Birds" lesson plan. Finally, try mammal and bird activities from TESiboard.
