Winners of Becta's ICT in Practice Awards, sponsored by The TES and BT were in Scotland this week to spread the word about using ICT in the curriculum. Deirdre McCann, of St Louise's Comprehensive College, Belfast, Jackie Story, of Sanday School, Isle of Bute, and Kathryn Buckby, with Redcar and Cleveland LEA, were guest speakers at a special conference in Glasgow to support Scottish teachers and launch Scotland's new facility for video-conferencing.

It's time to get your nominations in for the 2002 awards (closing date July 27), to be presened at the BETT educational technology show in London, January 9-12. There are now five categories: management (primary, secondary and post-16); inclusion (primary, secondary and post-16); subject teaching (primary, secondary and post-16); management of change; advice and support.

Each award winner will receive pound;2,500, with an additional pound;2,500 going to their school or organisation. Each runner-up will receive pound;500, with an additional pound;500 going to their school or organisation.
