Shop till you qualify

(Photograph) - Six Year 10 pupils from Pendeford high school in Wolverhampton have swapped the classroom for the shop floor in a pilot scheme by West Midlands Co-operative Society. The pupils, aged 14 and 15, do practical, on-the-job training as they work towards a National Vocational Qualification level 2 in retail in the innovative programme which is linked directly to the pupils' school curriculum.
