Shopping-for-teachers success

30th March 2001 at 01:00
I WAS sorry to note that on his recent shopping trips for staff (TES, March 23) Tony Jones had no success at Tescos.

On a recent visit for my weekly shopping, the person in front of me in the queue kindly gave me her computer vouchers. This led to a conversation in which I revealed that I am a lcal primary head. The young woman at the check out then told me rhar she was a teacher from abroad who was looking for a graduate-teacher post. I gave her my business card and I am looking forward to her visit to the school next week!
