Silence over SEN pay

23rd November 2012 at 00:00

I read articles and letters in the TES every week about teachers' pay, such as "A pay freeze, you say? We've had none of that here" (16 November). I have seen no comment on the fact that thousands of SEN teachers have actually had a pay cut owing to the overhaul of the special educational needs (SEN) allowance system. As a teacher previously receiving SEN allowance 2, I will have a pay cut when my period of protected pay expires.
