Sir Elton funds learning centre

Somerset House, in London, is to open a new learning centre next month.

Funded by proceeds from a gala evening with Sir Elton John, the centre will act as a hub for education programmes organised at the former government offices, now home to the Somerset House Trust, the Courtauld Institute of Art, the Hermitage Rooms and the Gilbert Collection.

A central team will provideevents for schools and families, as well as development courses designed for teachers. The learning centre will open officially on February 5.
