Map Symbol Flashcards, a twin-pack of specialised playing cards, one featuring illustrations, the other matching descriptions in words, have been launched by Ordnance Survey, price Pounds 4.99. They can be used in a series of games such as bingo and snap or in practical map-making exercises to help children recognise and memorise symbols and abbreviations used in OS's national Landranger series.
