* A Year 6 class was reviewing Macbeth. One boy wrote: "Macbeth was a worrier. On the way back from a battle he met three witches and it all went downhill from there."


* I was telling my Year 2 class about the Victorians and that this period of history had ended 100 years ago. One boy, eyes wie open with wonder, said after a moment's thought: "Wow, Miss, what a great memory you have."


* A Year 6 boy was trying to complete a crossword with some hints from me.

"The way a horse moves - gallop?" "No, it starts with tr..."

"I know...trollop."
