A source book on democracy for Higher and Advanced Higher courses has been produced by a team of Edinburgh University academics.

Renewing Democracy in Scotland, by Jim Crowther, Ian Martin and Mae Shaw, brings together about 50 specially commissioned papers addressing key ideas and values, issues and challenges for democracy and the international dimensions of democracy. Each paper also lists three or four sources for follow-up reading.

The book is published by the National Institute of Adult Continuing Education (pound;25).
