Space to explore

18th November 2005 at 00:00
The British National Space Centre offers free resources for teaching about Venus linked to key stage 3 and 4 science. Each lesson plan details which part of the English, Welsh, Scottish and Northern Irish curriculum it is relevant to. Other resources include cards with pictures of the planets and the Sun drawn to scale, illustrating the sheer size of the Sun, as well as career profiles of some of the scientists involved in Venus-related projects. The website also has teaching resources and worksheets for lessons about other planets in our solar system, the asteroid belt and cosmology and online games for students. Other online games help younger pupils learn about light and dark and the plants and animals on our planet. www.bnsc.gov.uklearningzone
