Sponsoring leaves independents cold

The Girls' Schools Association has challenged the idea of independents sponsoring academies. At last week's GSA conference, president Helen Wright told TES: "We've had lots of discussions with (schools commissioner) Liz Sidwell about primary schools in special measures. But is sponsorship necessary to change people's lives? To me, partnership is the most important aspect of it all."
