TES books editor Geraldine Brennan on the inside literary track

Writers aged 16 to 25 who are working seriously on fiction, poetry, lyrics, plays, or scripts are welcome at Our Words, a day of workshops, discussions and advice surgeries from tutors including playwright and screenwriter Katie Douglas, novelists Rebbecca Ray and Rajeev Balasubramanyam and Lisa Mead of the Apples and Snakes performance poetry agency. Organised by Spread the Word, the event at the Albany in Deptford, south-east London, on June 3 costs pound;12 or pound;7 concessions.
