We refer to your articles (TES, June 13 and 27) describing the "culture of fear" that has allegedly developed in the Learning and Skills Council Nottinghamshire.
The picture conveyed by the articles is not one that we recognise as staff working within the LSC Nottinghamshire. The organisation is exceptionally well-led and staff are supported appropriately at every level.
The LSC is well regarded by its staff and by those organisations that work with it. We fully respect and support our senior management team in all of their actions.
We recognise that we have a big job to do to raise learning participation, and attainment, across Nottinghamshire. Anything that deflects us from that challenge will be detrimental to the Nottinghamshire learning community.
We feel strongly that the LSC Nottinghamshire has been misrepresented and the articles do not give a true and equitable reflection of the internal culture within the organisation.
We wanted to put our point of view and to emphasise our commitment to work together across the organisation and with external partners and providers to focus on the needs of the learners that we are here to support.
