School: Milngavie Primary, East Dunbartonshire, 350 pupils. Deputy headteacher Susan Spiers.
What was the best arts event to visit your school in the past year? The Clydebuilt Puppet Theatre Company.
How did you hear about them? Years and years ago, the old Glasgow Corporation put out a list of such companies.
What did they do? A performance of Peter and the Wolf. They brought a great big set with them and allowed the children to see how it all worked. It was an hour-long performance.
Did you do any preparation beforehand? The company sent posters and material which we showed to the children.
Did you do any follow-up work? No. It was meant mainly to give the children some fun.
What did the visit cost? pound;395.
Who paid? The parents.
What was so good about them? The way they involved the children - their wee faces told the whole story. They were completely taken in by what was happening in front of their eyes. They are just a very, very reliable theatre company and I'd recommend them to any school.
How relevant was it to the curriculum? In terms of expressive arts and drama, of course it was highly relevant.
