State foots bill for dancers fees;In brief

SCHOLARSHIPS for 820 of the country's most talented dance and drama students were announced by education minister Baroness Blackstone this week.

The pound;19 million scheme, funded jointly by the Department for Education and Employment and the Higher Education Funding Council for England, will provide more than pound;6,000 per year towards fees at 29 private dance and drama schools.
