Statement's no sleazy solution

But there's no need to worry about the wave of sleaze washing over the Government. The national executive committee of the Socialist Educational Association has issued a statement saying it is "appalled" at the apparent link between loans and peerages which calls on those responsible, "however high in the party" to be called to book.

That will have Blair quaking in his black Oxfords.
