Strike action called off

15th October 2004 at 01:00
Teachers at a Northern Ireland secondary suspended strike action after a 14-year-old girl who made false allegations was transferred to another school. A court rejected accusations of indecent assault against a male teacher at Laurelhill community college, Lisburn. The National Association of Schoolmasters Union of Women Teachers is reserving its right to continue industrial action while talks continue with council officials.
