Strike ballot over future academy

MEMBERS of the National Union of Teachers at Willesden high, north London, will vote on strike action unless Brent council guarantees that no jobs will be lost when the schol becomes one of the country's first city academies. The NUT will approach Jackie Griffin, Brent's director of education, following a stormy meeting this week.
