23rd January 2009 at 00:00

Strikes will hit colleges on February 5, the University and College Union said this week.

The union is targeting 11 colleges in the first wave of action to force up to 90 colleges to implement a pay deal from four years ago. The UCU apologised to students for the disruption, but said it had no choice.

The colleges affected are: Nelson and Colne; Croydon; Greenwich Community; College of North West London; Dearne Valley; Doncaster; Rotherham College of Arts and Technology; Evesham and Malvern Hills; Sandwell; Sussex Downs; Askham Bryan.
