Fine and Dandy

Literacy

- P4s from an Aberdeen school have won a one-year subscription to The Dandy for their class. The pupils from the junior school at Robert Gordon's College entered a competition to draw the "uncoolest teacher in Britain". Seven pupils each came up with an idea. Teacher Robert Cowie said that some were "worryingly close to actual teachers".

Constructive tip

Health

- Hundreds of children in Edinburgh's west end are being asked to stay away from tram construction sites this summer. Project staff visited Roseburn and Balgreen primaries in June to highlight the dangers. Children spent an hour being shown around the construction equipment. A poster competition has "safety first" as its central theme.
