Battling bullying


- Two pupil-led groups at Dundee's St John's High held an anti-bullying conference last month. The event, attended by representatives from eight of the city's secondaries, was organised by the school's anti-bullying group, Respect, and peer mediator group, Strawb. The aim was for pupils to share good practice and ideas on how to tackle bullying in schools.

If the shoe fits .


- Marc Wright, a third-year pupil from Whitburn Academy in Bathgate, won the Schuh Design Challenge 2011 with his design of a Scottish-themed boot last month. The competition was organised by West Lothian's enterprise in education team. Marc won a pair of shoes of his choice and the chance to work with one of Schuh's designers.
