Lesson learnt

Business studies

Some of Scotland's most successful business people have been given a lesson in franchising from pupils. Youngsters from Glasgow's Holyrood Secondary presented their findings on the state of the country's booming franchising industry at a business breakfast in the city. The event was part of Scottish Franchise Week.

Star pupils

St Ninian's High in Kirkintilloch won the Marketing Society "Star School of the Year" award last month. The team of S5 pupils beat competitors from Edinburgh's George Watson's College and East Renfrewshire's Mearns Castle High. Each school had spent a day at an advertising agency to create a press advert. They also recorded a radio commercial.
