Queen's head


A new exhibition of portraits of the Queen opens at the Royal Scottish Academy in Edinburgh on 25 June. Sixty images of Elizabeth II, spanning the 60 years she has been monarch, will be on display. Pupils visiting the show will also be able to learn from accompanying material about the range of artistic creativity inspired in Britain during her reign.

Robert Gordon's College pupils Maura Buchanan and Morag Forbes (S3) won the final of the English-Speaking Union (ESU) Scotland Juniors Debating Competition 2011, held earlier this month at the Scottish Parliament. The competition, in its 10th year, attracted a record entry of 128 teams.
