Veggie tales

Veginvasion, a pack of class activities based on the children's book Oliver's Vegetables, by Vivian French, will be launched in a storytelling session at Cockenzie Primary in East Lothian, on 27 October. The resources offer opportunities to learn about vegetables and experiment with different tastes. They will be distributed to all Lothian primary schools in November.

Sports boost

Over half of the primary children whose schools were involved in National Sports Week in June have joined or would like to join a sports club, a survey by the Bank of Scotland has shown. More than 1,400 Scottish schools took part in the event, run by the bank and Sportscotland.
