Active learning


The Scottish Youth Theatre has launched a vocational performance and production course for young people aged 16-25. It offers an alternative to school and college qualifications, focusing on active learning.

Top builders


A team from Preston Lodge High, East Lothian, have become the 2011-12 East of Scotland Construction and Built Environment Challenge champions. Castlemilk High won the west of Scotland trophy. The competition sets challenges including assembling a garden shed and solving plumbing and electrical problems.
