Summer hols don't have to be costly

8th June 2007 at 01:00
John Cattermole complained in his article last week that he cannot afford to take his children abroad this summer because of the "extortionate price of flights" which "double or even quadruple the moment the end of July arrives".

Wondering whether all this was true, I contacted Easyjet and found four return flights available to La Rochelle, leaving on July 30 and returning two weeks later, for pound;19 each. Even with pound;30 tax per person on top, that is less than pound;200 in total. Take the kids to France, John, and put these canards about holiday costs to one side in favour of seeing some live ones.
