Sunflower competition

23rd April 2004 at 01:00
The Greenfingers appeal invites primary schools to send in for free sunflower seeds and teacher's project pack and help raise money for their school and children's hospices in the UK. Under the scheme, children grow sunflowers at home or at school, observing and recording their progress and getting family and friends to pledge an amount for each centimetre of their sunflower's final height on July 2. When collected, the funds will be split 50:50 between the school and Greenfingers.

The school raising the most money will win gardening prizes worth pound;500 and a visit from the children's gardening character Mr Rotavator.
