Taskforce chief

Chris Humphries, new director general of the British Chambers of Commerce, has been appointed to head the Government's new skills taskforce.

Mr Humphries is currently chief executive of the TEC National Council. Education and Employment Secretary David Blunkett said: "I cannot stress enough how important the work of the task force will be in advising how best to develop the national skills agenda." Regional consultative seminars will start next month.
