Teachers on learning and skills councils

LEARNING and skills councils are actively recruiting schoolteachers and headteachers, Margaret Hodge, further and higher education minister, told the Commons. Currently, there are 19 local LSCs with heads or teachers of schools with sixth forms on their governing bodies. The LSC has been responsible for the funding of school sixth forms since April 2002 and is in the process of recruiting a headteacher of a school with a sixth form to its national council.
