Teachers' strike

A teachers' strike forced the closure of the 540-pupil Movilla High School in Newtownards, County Down, on Monday. The 25 members of the NASUWT union who walked out had their pay docked when they refused to teach a pupil whom they said assaulted a colleague. The boy had just returned after a 10-day suspension.
