Terms and Conditions of Competition -Sharing Your Great Practice


1.This competition is open to residents of the United Kingdom who work (whether paid or voluntary) in a school in the United Kingdom (excluding higher education establishments).

2.Entrants, including their nominee(s) must be 18 or over.

3.Employees of Educational Digital Management Limited and Education Digital Limited (collectively referred

to as "Teachers TV"), their families or anyone directly involved with the competition are not eligible to enter.

4.Entry into the competition constitutes acceptance of these terms and conditions.

5.These terms and conditions shall be deemed to be read in conjunction with the instructions for entry set out on the Teachers TV website however in the event these terms and conditions contradict the instructions in any form, the terms and conditions here in shall supersede any such contradictory clause or statement.

6.All details (including the entry) provided must be truthful and accurate and in no way misleading. Upon request entrants shall supply Teachers TV with any supporting documentation to substantiate their eligibility to enter this competition or claim a prize.


7.Entries must be submitted by email to sharingyourgreatpractice@teachers.tv. Entries will not be accepted by post or by any other means.

8.Entries must be no more than 250 words. This does not include contact details.

9.Entries must be accompanied with the name, address, daytime contact numbers of both the nominator, the nominee and the relevant school office, the nominee's role in education (for example their job title), and email addresses for both nominator and nominee. Entrants may supply alternative contact numbers if they wish.

10.Entries must be received no later than 17.00 on Tuesday 24th August 2010.

11.Entries cannot be returned. We shall contact those entrants who are selected as winner or runners up.

12.Entrants can submit more than one entry but each entry must be for a different nominee.

13.Entrants acknowledge that part of the prize will involve Teachers TV filming within the winner's school during the period of 13th - 17th September 2010 and therefore agree to give full co-operation to Teachers TV to enable any necessary filming during this period. Entrants shall ensure that before entering the competition all appropriate persons in the school are informed about their entry and appropriate permissions are obtained.

14.Proof of transmission electronically shall not be accepted as proof of delivery and Teachers TV cannot accept responsibility for any electronic submissions which are corrupted. Damaged or incomplete entries may be treated as invalid.

15.Teachers TV accept no responsibility for participants being unable to connect to the Teachers TV website or a persons inability for any reason to participate in this competition, or if their entry is late or lost due to any problem technical or otherwise connected with their web connection. Teachers TV accept no responsibility for any occurrences resulting from the participants connection to the Internet via Teachers TV's website. Teachers TV does not accept responsibility for any damage (whether material or non-material) caused to participants, to their computer equipment or to data which is stored on them, or to their personal, professional or commercial activities.


16.1 winner and 2 runners up shall be picked by a panel of judges ("the Panel"). The Panel may be changed, without notice, at any time by Teachers TV and any person advertised to take part in the competition or the Panel shall be subject to availability.

17.The Panel's decision is final, and no correspondence or discussion concerning the decision will be entered into.

18.Teachers TVshall endeavour to notify the winner and runners up by Tuesday 7th September 2010. The winner and runners up will be contacted via the contact details provided in their entry form. Winners and runners up who are unavailable when contacted will be given 3 working days (from the date of first contact) to respond otherwise they will be deemed to have forfeited their place and Teachers TV reserves the right to re-offer their place without any liability to the entrant or nominee for having done so.

19.The winner and runners up agree to take part in publicity and marketing activities in connection with this competition.


20.Subject to compliance with these Terms and Conditions the winner will receive a flip video camera and pound;100 pounds worth of Amazon vouchers for their school. In addition Teachers TV will feature the winning school in a 15 minute programme about how they are using video within their classrooms.

21.Subject to compliance with these Terms and Conditions both of the runners up will receive a video flip camera for their school.

22.Should the prize(s) become unavailable due to circumstances beyond Teachers TV's control, Teachers TV reserve the right to withdraw any of the prizes at any time.

23.Teachers TV make no representations or warranties regarding the quality of the prizes and any conditions, warranties, or other terms implied by statute or common law are hereby excluded to the fullest extent permitted by law. Any complaints shall be directed to the relevant third party provider.


24.Entrants retain ownership of their entries.

25.By entering the competition entrants grant to Teachers TV a perpetual, royalty-free, non-exclusive, transferable right and licence to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, distribute, create derivative works from, perform, play, make available to the public and exercise all copyright or similar rights (including publicity rights) in their entry worldwide andor to incorporate their entry in other works in any media now known or developed in the future for the full term of any rights that may exist in their entry.

26.The entrant undertakes and warrants that the entrant's submission shall be original, previously unpublished and shall not breach the copyright, intellectual property or related rights of any personand the entrant has obtained all necessary consents from contributors (and where necessary parentsguardians) to their submission. The entry shall not infringe the privacy or any other rights of any third party and will not contain anything which is defamatory, derogatory, obscene, indecent, threatening or harassing.

27.Teachers TV reserves the right to cancel, alter and amend the competition or these terms and conditions for any reason without prior notice and the right to refuse entry to or disqualify any person for any failure to comply with these terms and conditions.

28.Teachers TV may use the information provided on the entry form to contact the entrant about the services of Teachers TV.

29.Teachers TV may assign its rights under these terms and conditions at any time.

30.In the event of any dispute regarding the terms and conditions, competition, conduct, results and all other matters in relation to this competition, the decision of Teachers TV shall be final and no correspondence or discussion shall be entered into. These terms and conditions are governed by English law.
