TES Forums - Will you miss the strategies?

4th June 2010 at 01:00

There were some good bits. When they go, I imagine there will be 'freedom' for us to do as we please, until Ofsted arrives and expects us to be doing whatever is in the latest DfE circular. So, their demise will make little difference - just a change of straitjacket.

No - not in the slightest. I expect the stress, high blood pressure and muted fury will remain with me for a long time. It is my fervent hope that the new Government will put a four-year moratorium on any further tinkering with the school curriculum andor teaching methods.

I will miss them. Unfortunately, they became prescriptive rather than just a bank of good ideas - a corset to lace teaching into rather than a well-fitted brassiere of support. Which is a shame.
