TESS award for Christmas spirit

Hopscotch Theatre Company was booked at a Greenock primary school to do Jack and the Beanstalk. Come December, the head teacher phones to cancel her booking, with regrets. A computer firm in the area has gone bankrupt. Many of the children's parents worked there. Four of the school staff are married to men who lost their jobs. The school cannot afford Hopscotch and cannot ask the children for money. Hopscotch holds a quick committee meeting. Decides what the heck, let's go and do the show anyway. Which they did.
