"Pasteovers" are the latest nasty to which pupils are being treated. Far from this being about bullying activities in the playground, it's about the experience of pupils in Gaelic-medium classes having to put up with English textbooks and making do with Gaelic translations pasted over the text.
It's only the latest "furore" Education Minister Peter Peacock has to contend with in these pre-election times. Rob Gibson, the SNP Highlands and Islands MSP, even suggested this damnable practice could be contributing to the shortage of Gaelic-speaking teachers.
There was a need for the full range of resources available for English classes, fumed Michael Foxley, Highland Council's vice-convener, "such as fiction written in Gaelic".
We couldn't possibly comment.
