They all arrive with a smile

In response to your feature on happy schools, I would like to add my school's experiences.

Last year we were described by the Office for Standards in Education as "one big happy family where everyone and everything was valued".

The report heaped praise on us: "children can't wait to get into school", everyone arrives with "smiles on their faces".

We have tremendous support from parents and have taken delegation of school meals. Every child in school buys a meal (180 children) and we have no packed lunches, very hard to achieve.

We operate in teams that are not just teaching-staff led. The catering manager is in charge of all midday staff and their activities, including job reviews, and it works very well.
