Two of Scotland's biggest companies were lauded last week for their work in education. BP came top in the business of the year category in the Awards for Excellence run by Scottish Business in the Community, partly for its work supporting science education and employability skills. Standard Life was recognised for its "basix" initiative aimed at preparing S4-S6 pupils for the world of work.
