According to students, good lecturers:

* are interesting, knowledgeable, fun and approachable

* promote good teaching and are able to inspire confidence

* talk the class through everything they need to know

* genuinely want their students to do well

* offer extra tuition when needed

* believe in a student's ability

* offer praise when a job is well done

* are very understanding
