Time to move;Letter

17th April 1998 at 01:00
I have been teaching for five years and feel completely undervalued. In my previous occupation I reached a management position but none of this is taken into account in teaching.

Despite working excessive hours to prove my capabilities, I am still the lowest paid member of full-time staff in my school. I have brought to the profession relevant skills but have received no recognition for this.

As I entered the teaching profession I wrongly thought that I would quickly achieve some status and feel valued. Sadly, I was wrong and I now feel the time has come to look elsewhere to someone who will value my capabilities.
