Three colleges have been commended by the National Council for the Training of Journalists (NTCJ) for the quality of their journalism courses

Harlow College won an award for its year-long further education news course, which saw 27 per cent of students in 200809 passing all disciplines. Darlington College was best for fast-track courses, with 34 per cent of students gaining the preliminary certificate in journalism. City College Brighton and Hove was judged the best performer for NCTJ- accredited magazine courses.
