Ton of fun

(Photograph) - IT student Sidney Platt has marked his 100th birthday by moving up a level in his studies. He is now tackling advanced databases on a level 2 course at Havering college. "I started using computers on the old Amstrad system, so I've seen some big changes over the decades," he said. "I've learnt lots of tips and short-cuts. I enjoy going to the centre because I always get a lovely smile from the ladies there, and I can impress them with new computer tips." Photograph by RICHARD LEA-HAIR
