Too hard on the Bard

Only a half of teachers thought the Shakespeare test for 14-year-olds last year was correctly pitched , according to a survey for the National Assessment Agency.

The poll of 750 English teachers by the Social and Market Strategic Research consultancy showed 48 per cent thought thequestions on Macbeth weretoo demanding.
