'Top of the league'

Leaders of Blackburn College in Lancashire this week claimed to be "top of the inspection league" after gaining 10 grade 1s and eight grade 2s from a full inspection by the Further Education Funding Council.

Clarendon College in Nottingham previously claimed the title with 11 1s. But it was let down by also gaining two grade 3s.
