The Total Volunteering Book

23rd February 2001 at 00:00
The Total Volunteering Book is for teenagers who want to get involved in their communities. Starting with role models from the pop and football worlds, it goes on to a broad variety of activities from the relatively mundane (reading to the elderly, looking after pets) to the more daring (sponsored parachute jumping or taking chldren on canal holidays). The directory usefully lists contacts in different localities, types of work available and minimum eligible ages. There is also advice on how to make a commitment that's both practical and enjoyable. The Total Volunteering Book is pound;6.99 from Aamp;C Black and is available through bookshops.
