Training shift

Latest Government statistics show a continued shift from Youth Training to the Modern Apprenticeship. The number of school and college leavers on the apprenticeship schemes - launched two years ago by the Tory government - rose by 1 per cent over 12 months to August 31 this year. The number of new starts on Youth Training fell by 13 per cent over the same period.
