Training unit to merge with Assembly;In Brief

THE TEACHER Training Agency Unit in Wales is to become part of the National Assembly's education department. First Secretary Alun Michael said the unit had dual accountability - providing advice to the Welsh Office ministers while remaining loyal to the parent body in England. "It is only proper that the unit should be able to work more closely with those making policy for Wales," he said.
